(May 2019) Echo Strategies, University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business and & Phorix Ltd, a UK-based design boutique collaborated on a novel “content weaving” project during 75-year-old IRI’s Annual Conference held in Pittsburgh April 29 through May 3, 2019.
In short, a diverse team of PhD students, Echo and Phorix colleagues worked in real time to capture the essence of presentations as well as Q&A sessions, key references cited, handouts and more.
Twelve collaborators worked in parallel to cover 35 presentations, workshops and keynote addresses. This included Sue Cohen, Mark Lightowler, Lou Musante, Ben Hilldorfer, Austin Nadin, Rick Kotermanski. The Katz PhD students included Jung Yoon Jang, Jeffrey Edwin Baker, Jimmy Dongwook Kim, Hillary Marcott and Peiyuan Huang.
The results of this first-of-its-kind endeavor for IRI was well received by the membership, but there is room for wining others over.
“I like this a lot. It’s terrific, and I’m very glad you and the team were there to help with this. A lot of people made a point of telling me how great you guys were. Obviously, this involves a culture change for IRI and I think it added tremendous value to the meeting and will continue to do so as we make your work available going forward.
Thank you all very much!“
