The Gen Z experience is unlike anything, and they are doing their best to overcome it. However, it is up to us to do more to help!

Years of isolated learning, home-bound work shoved in a cubicle, failing to feel they belong. We have put an entire generation at risk for catastrophic failure.

We have failed generation Z.

So many spent years behind the computer screen, missing out on homecoming, prom, and that new college student experience. They were isolated to a dorm room or bedroom, spending countless hours staring at a screen, making friends with Netflix over those around them.

COVID-19 has hurt many aspects of our lives, but it has helped to create extreme shyness within an entire generation. What does this mean?

It means an entire generation of thinkers, makers, and breakers are less likely to demonstrate their knowledge, impacting their innovative progress and educational experience. Further, this generation’s challenges with showing their knowledge created a poor societal perception of these individuals.

However, this generation’s experiences have created a unique and very talented group. So as colleges and businesses, we must support these makers, breakers, and innovators more because Generation Z is…

  • Highlight collaborative,
  • Sincerely care about others,
  • Values flexibility and authenticity,
  • Self-reliant, and
  • Pragmatic

Generation Z is the future, and it is looking pretty bright!

What is extreme shyness? Found out here!
